Vinyl for Mom

My Mother recently moved into an assisted living care center.
I decorated her room trying to make it look like home.

I made the sign with a file from Vinyl Ready Designs. I hot glued the silk flowers to the corners to dress it up a bit.

I separated out the vine and resized it to add to the chair backs. This 3 piece bistro set I found at WalMart was the perfect size for her 'kitchen'.

Mom is adjusting very well to her new surroundings ♥

  1. Hi Reen,
Glad to hear your mom is adjusting well to the ALF; they really have come around over the years. Your family is in our thoughts.

  4. I'm new to this and have a lot to learn. I GOOGLED My Vinyl Designer but not sure how it works. Will I have to have the Design Studio to use it?

You need to have a program that overrides the Cricut. I use SCAL.
This program now only works with older Cricut machines due to a lawsuit.
It might help you to join a group or forum for the cricut.
It would be easy to recreate the file with Design Studio. HOME is Araquelle font, I believe.

  6. Hate to bother you, but do you know where I could get one of the older machines?

  7. You can cut svg files using other software besides SCAL - Make the Cut is one - and with different cutting machines. There is the Silohuette, Robo, etc. Again, it would be best to join a group to get all the up to date info. Since I have an older Cricut and the software, I haven't really kept up with the new machines, etc. If something happens to my Cricut, I'll be looking for a new machine to work with my software :) Thanks.
