More Cricut fun!

When I ran across these black ornaments at Hobby Lobby, I knew I needed them for something :)
These will be a gift for the girl who does my hair. She's into Twilight.

I made the lighted glass block for me! I plan on doing a few more of these. They're addicting.

  1. I love the glass block. You are making me want the Cricut...which is not going to happen any time soon.

  2. Have you thought about posting some tutorials on how to make the ornaments and glass block? I have a cricut and I haven't been brave enough to try cutting anything other than simple paper shapes.

    You are very inspirational!

    Thanks for sharing.

  3. Thanks!

Kristy, All I'm really doing is applying the vinyl I cut to the items.

I'm waiting on an order of vinyl to arrive. It should come on Friday. I have an idea for more ornaments. I'll try to post some pics of the steps. It might be the end of next week before I get it all ready.

  4. Reen, What font did you use for the vinyl you used on the Believe in Magic glass block? I love that font.

  5. Your block is beautiful. How did you do the writing on it?

  6. Thanks Judi. It's vinyl. I used my Cricut to cut it and apply it to the front of the block.

  9. What font and picture of the tree did you do for the glass "Believe" block? I really want to make them for Christmas this year. Did you use a spray to make them look frosty? thanks for your cute idea

  10. Brenda, That's a file from vinylreadydesigns.com
I did use Frost Spray. Be careful though, it will scratch.

  15. No. If you're referring to the scallops around it, I made a stencil with vinyl and used Frost Spray Paint on the outside before I put the letttering, etc on.

  16. Thank you, sorry for so many questions but I do have one more if you don't mind.

Where are the glass blocks available?

  17. I'm happy to answer your questions. You can get the glass blocks (with pre-drilled holes) at Michaels or HobbyLobby. I have bought some at Lowe's closer to the holidays in the seasonal aisle.

  20. I purchased the Believe in the Magic download from vinylready designs and downloaded it to use with my silhouette. When I tried to ungroup the tree from the saying it wouldn't let me do it. I emailed the company and was told that the design it made welded together and is not made to be ungrouped. I wanted the tree and saying different colors. How did you get yours red and green?? Thanks!

  21. Sheila, I made this a few years ago. I think I just cut the file twice, once in red and once in green. I used the lettering from one cut and the tree from the other. I used the leftover cuts on something else.

  22. I absolutely love your glass block. I have been looking for a design like this for many months. I was told that I cannot use my Cricut Expressions 2 to cut it. Can you tell me what machine you used?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Thanks Donna. I have an older Cricut. I can use Sure Cuts A Lot with it.

  27. Hi Reen,
What did you use to secure the ribbon to the glass?
    Thank you for your time!

  28. The ribbon goes all the way around the blcok and is tied really tight at the top
