I recently attended a 3 day sewing, quilting & embroidery retreat in central Illinois. It was a fun, informative event. I attended classes on my machine embroidery software and a few hands on project classes.
Here's one of the projects I made.
Maybe you'll be more impressed after it's zipped up :)
The class was taught by Mary Mulari
The project is from her new "Zip & Carry Bags" book.
I also attended a class on "Square In A Square".
I was amazed at how easy it was. The ruler can look intimidating, but once you know how to use it, it's really easy & fun. I still have to add the border to the sample I made in the class. I'll post a pic when it's done.

Hi Reen! I just found your blog - where were you in Central IL? Thats where I am! Your little zipper bag is cute! I saw some of those at a craft fair earlier this year! Very clever!
ReplyDeleteHi Angela,
ReplyDeleteGlad you found me :)
The retreat was in Peoria. It was put on by Galesburg Sewing Center. We stayed with my son & DIL and I went to the classes during the day and hung out with the kids at night.
It was fun. Reen
