Spring is Coming

Spring is in the air today here.
The weather will be warming up over the next week ~ finally.
Since I still can't get outside in my flower garden yet, I decided to do some indoor 'gardening'.

I created this Orchid Planter this morning.
There are 2 types of ferns, 2 orchids and 1 'pup' form my bromeliad.
It really adds a touch of Spring to the house.
I plan on doing more indoor gardening in the weeks to come.

Too "Doggone" Cute

I ♥ doxies! They're sweet and loyal and cute as can be.
I'll always have a little weiner dog by my side.

I also designed these cute felt Hair Clippies to match.
The bone shaped snap clip covers, cover 2" snap clips. The little doxies sit atop the bones.

I've included a printable Doxie Hair Clippie Card Holder too.
It makes a great presentation for gifting or selling the clips.

These machine embroidery design files can be purchased on my site.

My Doxie Hair Clippies are sold separately on my Etsy

Felted Slippers

I've made 2 pairs of these felted slippers and I love them! They're so warm and comfy.

I took an online class @ Craftsy with Betz White. They're very easy to make and stitch up quick.
You 'felt' old wool sweaters by washing them in hot water & soap. They become dense and don't ravel.
The ribbing on the bottom edge of the sweater is used for the cuff on the slippers.

On the striped pair I used jiffy grip on the soles. I embellished them with scraps left from the sweater.

I need to hit the thrift stores for more sweaters!

I've also included printable cards to attach a pin to, perfect for gift giving.

Snowmen Peppermint Patties

I had to do some sort of snowman project this year. I've been so busy with my web site that I was glad I could squeeze a little crafty time in for me.

These little guys cover the top of a peppermint patty candy. I really love York Dark Chocolate Peppermint Patties, but they're packaged in loose rectangles. I got small round peppermint patties at WalMart.

I cut the black scallops & white circles from cardstock using my Cricut machine.
The scallops are cut at 1.75" and the circles at 1.50". Use double stick tape to secure the circle on top of the scallop.

I used rouge and a stiff brush to apply a little blush at the cheeks. The end of a paintbrush dipped in black paint makes the eyes and mouth. Add and orange nose and he's done.

After the paint dries, apply double stick tape to the back and stick the snowman to the back of the peppermint patty. Yummy!
