"Ollie" Owl Machine Embroidery Design

I'm ♥ing Owls right now.

Introducing "Ollie", one of my newest machine embroidery applique designs.

I quilted fabric on my sewing machine, then embroidered the owl onto it.
I mirror imaged the design to make the opposite one.

I centered them in wodden embroidery hoops and hot glued small branches to the bottom.

'Welcome' Planter

I did this for my Mom.

I cut the outdoor vinyl on my Cricut. The font is Aquarelle and the embellishment under Welcome is from My Vinyl Designer.

The tub & stand came from Old Tyme Pottery.

Seashells by the Seashore

We recently got back from a vacation to the beach.
My son David & I collected seashells along the shore.

I bought some of the shells at the dollar store to fill in the jar.
The jar came from Old Tyme Pottery.

It sits by my tub and reminds me of the fun we all had.

Baby Blanket

A friend told me about Lion Brand's 'Pound of Love' yarn and how she makes baby blankets for a local charity.

The pattern is on the back of the label and is sooooo easy to do and works up really fast.

It makes a pretty blanket.

Use a 40% coupon @ Joanns and it's under $5.00 to make.

Butterfly Shadowbox

I cut the butterflies out with my Circut. Then I ran them through my Cuddlebug to add texture.

Foam dots secure them to the linen paper background. The dots also hold them slightly above the paper adding dimension and shadows.

I really like how this turned out.

I'm going to try and get a better photo without the glare.

Let the Games Begin

I ♥ the Olympics and can't wait for the Winter Games to begin.
I created these 2 Gold Medal designs today.

The free edges of the ribbon add dimension & fun to these machine embroidery designs. These medals look great on onesies & little ones tee shirts.

Cupcake Socks

This idea came from the Cricut messageboard.
Roll up a pair of those fuzzy, soft socks and pop them in a cupcake wrapper.
How cute is that??
Photobucket

I cut the wrappers on my Cricut. The one on the left is a free wrapper (svg) from Penny Duncan. It's a plain wrapper. I welded hearts along the top and cut it from double-sided cardstock. I folded the hearts down after I put the socks in.

The wrapper on the left was a free svg file too. I can't remember where I got it from though.

I used a red pompom and a small silk leaf for the 'cherry' on top.

These will make great gifts.
